Lucerne Festivalmusic that crosses borders
The Lucerne Festival is actually not one, but three gatherings. And all of them attract musicians and orchestras of international renown. At the biggest, the Lucerne Festival in Summer, masterpieces by both classical composers and also more contemporary pieces, such as current compositions by the ‘composers in residence’ sponsored by the festival, blend into an enjoyable mix.
The Lucerne Festival at Easter takes place for just over a week during Lent and up to and including Palm Sunday, and is increasingly dedicated to sacred music. Every year in November, the Lucerne Festival at the Piano is devoted to piano playing, celebrating both the classics and also the more modern renditions.
